Lotus flower

The lotus is a perennial ornamental plant from the waterlily family, which, thanks to its way of life, has become a symbol with a deep spiritual meaning, strongly influenced by Buddhism.

As the lotus grows, the leaves floating on or growing above the surface first emerge from the muddy environment. It then grows on the stem from the level of the bud, which blooms together with the sunrise. Its beauty lies in its purity. God endowed the lotus with resistance to liquid impurities that simply flow from the flower back into the water.

Lotus seeds are also exceptional, as they can germinate over the course of hundreds or thousands of years. The possibility of regulating the internal temperature is also interesting. The lower the ambient temperature, the more the flower oxidizes carbohydrates to generate heat. Due to these qualities, the lotus represented purity, rebirth, eternity and spiritual growth.
