Licorice

Licorice is a perennial plant that grows up to 1.5 m in height. It comes from the Mediterranean (mainly cultivated in Greece and Turkey). It came to us in the 16th century. It earned the name "sweet wood" for its characteristically sweet taste.

Aroma: Licorice is often considered and confused for an identical aroma with anise, but in its pure form it is different. It has an intensely sweet, but also rich, rooty, slightly caramel aroma.
