Lavander
✅Perfume industry.
Lavender is a hardy, winter-hardy, frost-resistant shrub. It grows to a height of 60-90 cm. It originally comes from the countries of North Africa and the Mediterranean.
Description: It is a decorative plant that smells wonderful. There are over 40 types of lavender and a large number of hybrids. The colour of lavender ranges from purple to white. Lavender has an angular, green stem that becomes woody in the second year. The leaves are grey-green, narrow, and smell strongly when crushed. Dried flowers retain their fragrance for a long time. Seeds from spent flowers are tiny, dark brown. Lavender is grown as an ornamental plant, but also as a medicinal herb.
The Romans spread it throughout Europe, it has been used in cosmetics since ancient times. Its name is derived from the Latin "lavare" (to wash).
Lavender is used to obtain a high quality essential oil. Those who are not allergic to lavender can, on the contrary, use it to soothe allergic reactions (for example, when bitten by insects).
Lavender essential oil can act as an allergen and slightly irritate the skin in more sensitive individuals.
A hybrid called "Lavandin" (Lavandula hybrida) is more profitable than lavender and is widely grown for industrial use in lavender fields in southern France.
