Hyacinth

Hyacinth (hyacinthus), originating from Western Asia, ranks among the typical representatives of white flowers. It charms with the many coloUr shades of its flowers. Hyacinth is traditionally found in the base note of the fragrance. Due to the small amount of fragrance oil obtained from extracting the slices, its fragrance oil is very expensive. The scent of hyacinth is rich, green, expressive, brilliantly spicy and intoxicatingly sweet. The bred species Hyacinthus orientalis boasts the most distinctive scent.

History: The intoxicating aroma of hyacinth was already mentioned in the Bible. However, the Marquis de Pompadour also fell in love with Hyacinth.
