Green Grass

Grass, leaves, and in fact virtually any plant has green leaves or a stem. Plants are green for the reason that for the proper functioning of photosynthesis, i.e. the process of converting sunlight and simple compounds (mainly carbon dioxide CO2) into chemical energy (sugars).

The released oxygen originates in water. The summary equation of photosynthesis is most often given in the form: 6 CO2 + 6 H2O → C6H12O6 + 6 O2 Photosynthesis takes place in two stages, i.e. it has a light and dark phase. During the light phase, light energy is incorporated into macro links, which are then used in the dark phase. In it, the conversion of CO2 into carbohydrates takes place.
