Fig
The fig is considered a fruit, in fact it is a closed fruiting body, created by the ripening of a specialized inflorescence, the so-called syconia. Sykonium is a fleshy bulb containing many flowers inside. The fig tree is a monoecious plant, so the inflorescence contains both male and female flowers.
The fig tree is a tree or shrub that can grow up to 10 meters in height. It comes from Asia, where we can still find its wild specimens, in Europe it is mainly found in warm Mediterranean areas.
History: The fig tree is an old cultural plant, records of its cultivation date back to around 3000 BC. It is even said in fables that Buddha received his spiritual enlightenment under a fig tree.
And also allegedly the Biblical she-wolf weaned Romulus and Remus, precisely in the shade of the crown of the fig tree, where she often rested. The fruits of this sacred tree have healing effects in many regions, especially for our body.
