Amareto
Amaretto (a diminutive of Italian amaro, bitter) is an Italian fruit liqueur that has a sweet, bitter-sweet taste with an almond aroma. This liqueur is made from almonds, apricot kernels, herbs, vanilla and spices. It contains 28% alcohol. The oldest original Amaretto is the Di Saronno brand.
History: Amaretto liqueur dates from 1525. It is served as a digestive, with coffee. It can also be used in small quantities on Tiramisu cake.
