Cumin
CUMIN is a biennial herb, growing to a height of up to 60 cm. Its home is Europe and Asia. It grows mainly in meadows and pastures as a wild plant. It blooms with white to pink, small, multiple flowers from June to July. Cumin leaves are rich in vitamin B and C and iron.
Cumin is the dried seeds of the cumin herb and is one of the oldest spices used in Europe. It has a spicy aroma with a hot-sour undertone.
USE:
✅Caraway seeds are traditionally used in the food industry, folk medicine and cosmetics, as they contain a high proportion of carvone, carbohydrates, proteins and fats, but also beneficial minerals such as potassium, magnesium, zinc.
✅Essential oil is obtained from cumin seeds by steam distillation, which is quite widely used in aromatherapy and traditional medicine.
✅It must not be used by pregnant women, as it can cause miscarriage and can be neurotoxic in high concentrations. Contains carvone, dihydrocarvone-Cis, limonene and myrcene.
✅The medicinal effects of cumin are used for digestive problems, to support the secretion of gastric juices, relieves spasms and flatulence, and also works well against fungi.
✅It was also used to improve the production of breast milk and remove bad breath, but also to improve blood circulation and heart health or for menstrual and respiratory problems.
✅Cumin is used in cosmetics and also in the perfumery industry, it is added as an aromatic component to perfumes
