Clary sage

NUTMEG SAGE: natural areas of occurrence are the Mediterranean and Central Asia. It is grown here as an ornamental biennial. Its common name comes from the Latin word 'clarus' - clean or clear, as it was used in the past for inflammation of the eye or to remove foreign objects from the eye.

HISTORY: In the 16th century people added it to wine as an aphrodisiac or in the 19th century it replaced hops in beer. Then the beer was heavier and more intoxicating. German vintners from the Rhineland still taste its muscat wines today.

USE:

✅ Nutmeg sage stimulates the uterus and increases the production of the hormone estrogen.
