Citruses

CITRUS: is a genus of plants in the Rutaceae family. They are evergreen, heat-loving, mostly thorny trees or shrubs with mostly simple, slightly leathery leaves, originally from tropical and subtropical Southeast Asia and Australia.

The word citrus comes from the ancient Greek kedros or Latin cedrus, these words referred to plants with fragrant leaves or wood. Citruses belong to the most commercially and culturally important plants.

HISTORY: in the course of history, they also acquired considerable cultural significance, in religion they were used as a symbol of the Eden (Adam's) apple or as one of the Marian attributes.

USE:
