Brazilian rosewood

Rosewood is a type of exotic rare wood with a reddish-brown colour, sometimes with purple undertones and black graining. It stands out for its hardness, durability and acoustic properties. Rosewood comes from several species of the tropical Dalbergia tree. True rosewood grows in Central and South America (Panama, Bolivia, Guatemala, etc.). The wood is divided  into "sap and core". White wood (sap) is yellowish and worthless. The core, which is chocolate brown to brown-purple, is prized

AROMA: Freshly felled Brazilian rosewood trees smell of roses, hence the name "rosewood". The wood of Brazilian rosewood has been included in the list of protected species according to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES))
