Pink Grapefruit
Grapefruit, is a subtropical tree grown for its citrus fruits. Grapefruit was first discovered on the island of Barbados in the Caribbean Sea, from where it was brought to America.
It is a hybrid of the Jamaican orange variety (Citrus sinensis) and the Indonesian pomelo (C. maxima). Grapefruit was then grown as an ornamental plant, but it has only been popular as a fruit since the 19th century.
Today we know four colour forms: white, yellow, pink and red. Pink grapefruit is also known as the "heavenly fruit" for its health and strengthening properties.
