Amyris

Amyris is a genus of flowering plants from the citrus family. The common name is derived from the Greek word αμυρων, which means "intensely fragrant" and refers to the strong odour of the resin.

Where it comes from: Amyris is a plant native to the forested areas of the island of Haiti, where it is known as "candle wood" because this wood burns slowly like wax due to its high oil content. It is an evergreen shrub that likes mountain slopes; it has an aromatic bark, tough leaves and beautiful white flowers.

Description: Its thick liquid is almost colourless or slightly straw-like, with a volatile scent of sandalwood. Best combined with plum twig and all woody oils, as well as essential oils of: agarwood, cedarwood, lemongrass, lavender, nutmeg and ylang ylang.
