Benzoin
Benzoin is sometimes called Benzoin gum or Benjamin gum, and in India Sambrani or Loban (translated into Arabic as "lubān"). Benzoin is a balsam resin obtained from the bark of several species of trees of the genus Styrax.
Use:
✅Benzoin is a common ingredient in incense and an integral part of perfumery and cosmetics because of its sweet, vanilla-like aroma. It also has very good fixing properties that slow down the dispersion of essential oils and other fragrances into the air.
✅Gum benzoin is the main ingredient in church incense used in Russia and some other Orthodox Christian societies, as well as in Western Catholic churches.
✅Benzoin is most commonly used in the Arabian Peninsula and Hindu temples in India, where it is burned on charcoal as incense.
✅It is also used in the production of Bakhoor (scented wood shavings).
✅Benzoin is also used in veterinary medicine and scented candles.
✅It is also used as a flavoring agent in alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, baked goods, chewing gum, frozen dairy products, gelatin, puddings and soft candies
