White peach

A white peach is a type of stone fruit that grows on the common peach tree. It is a soft fruit formed by a stone in the middle.

Peaches were originally cultivated in China approximately 4,000 years ago, mainly in the provinces of Hebei and Sichuan, from where they spread throughout the world along the Silk Road, gradually passing through Persia, where they soon became domesticated as cultivated fruit trees.

History: Persia has long been considered the homeland of peaches, in Rome they were called Persian apples (mala persica). This is how the later name of the genus, Persica, arose. Peaches spread quickly in Rome, the Romans spread them to Gaul - evidence of this is peach pits in archaeological finds. In the 10th century, peaches reached England. In the 17th century, thanks to immigrants, peaches reached America, where they found favourable climatic conditions and active growers in Texas and California.
