Tangerine

Tangerine is one of the most popular orange-coloured citrus fruits. It contains a large amount of vitamins, has a thin skin and a sweet taste. It is ideal for direct consumption.

Aroma: The tangerine scent is sweet, slightly honeyed and juicy. The origin of the name is not entirely clear. Sometimes it is claimed that it comes from the word Mandare, which is the original name of the island of Mauritius, from where mandarins used to be imported. Other times, it is said that the name of the fruit was given by the country of origin. Where this species of the citrus genus comes from cannot be determined with certainty, usually they are named by the homeland of the fruit. It did not reach Europe until 1805, when they were imported from China to Great Britain and from there shortly to Malta and Sicily. For its beautiful sparkling fragrance, its extract is added to oil perfumes.
