The powder is prepared from freshwater and marine pearls. These are first sterilized with hot water and then ground into a fine powder. The modern view of pearl dust is familiar because a pearl is formed inside an oyster when a foreign body, such as a grain of sand, penetrates inside. As a result of a defensive reaction, the oyster begins to secrete a nacreous substance that envelops the foreign element layer by layer. At the same time, this pearly substance contains two main structural components - "aragonite and conchiolin" - plus many essential amino acids, but also iron, copper, magnesium and potassium.
