Plum

The plum tree or domestic plum (Prunus domestica) is a well-known tree of the genus Prunus.

In Central Europe, the cultivation of domestic plum, a tree-like tree of lower height, has a long tradition. Plum is often part of orchards. It is easily propagated vegetatively, by cuttings. It is rather heat-loving and thrives in a mild climate. Many different bred forms of domestic plum tree are known. Most of them are varieties of regional importance. They also include the Schlapanica plum.

Aroma: The plum note has a juicy, fruity, sweet scent with a lush and sensual vibe.

USE:

✅In the food and canning industry. Compotes, jams, prunes, etc. are made from them.

✅Ripe or overripe fruits are left to ferment and schnapps (plum wine) is made from them.

✅They are very popular in the kitchen, fruit dumplings, buns and cakes are filled with jam.

✅Plum wood is rarely used in furniture, rather it is used to make small objects.

✅Another indisputable use is in the cosmetics and perfume industry.
