Peach

Common peach (Prunus persica) is a fruit tree with stone fruits that blooms in March, April and May. The original homeland of peaches is most likely China, from there they reached Western Asia, especially Persia, where they soon became domesticated.

History: It was from Persia that they reached Rome, where the wild fruits were called Persian apples (mala persica). They reached Gaul and across the Alps with the Romans. Common peach also grows wild as a bush.
