Where does the bitter orange tree grow? The orange tree originated in Arab countries, from where it spread to Spain during Arab rule. The Spanish brought it to Florida in the fifteenth century, where it thrives very well. Furthermore, the bitter orange tree is grown in India, Africa and also in the Himalayas.
