Mint
Peppermint is a perennial herb probably originating from Western Europe, from where it spread throughout the world.
Due to its beneficial and versatile effect, it was used in many ancient cultures (Egypt, China). Today it is found in almost all countries with a temperate climate.
Peppermint is a natural cross between water mint (Mentha aquatica) and spearmint (Mentha spicata). Mint should be avoided by people allergic to menthol and breastfeeding women, as it reduces the production of breast milk.
